Content that converts: writing pages that rank
Rankings without enquiries are vanity. The writing structure that answers buyers, handles objections and turns traffic into WhatsA
Most business content fails in one of two directions. It ranks but sells nothing - 2,000 words of careful SEO that never asks for the business. Or it sells hard but ranks nowhere - brochure copy shouting WE WE WE into a void. Content that converts does both jobs in one structure, and the structure is learnable.
The five-part page that works
One: the buyer’s words in the promise. The title and opening say what the page answers, in language buyers actually type - “website cost in Guwahati”, not “transparent investment solutions”. If the buyer’s search words are not on the page, the page and the buyer never meet.
Two: the money answer, early. Price ranges, timelines, what changes the cost. Buried or hidden pricing loses the searches containing “cost” - and builds distrust with everyone else. Honest ranges filter tyre-kickers and pre-qualify real buyers; the page literally does your sales team’s first call.
Three: proof beside every claim. A claim without proof is a slogan. Numbers shipped, years, real photos, named reviews - placed next to the claims they support, not gathered in a lonely testimonial basement.
Four: objections handled honestly. “This is not for you if…” builds more trust than any superlative. Tell the reader when to choose the cheaper option, the alternative, or nothing at all. The paradox of the web: honesty about fit converts the right buyers harder than persuasion.
Five: one next step, everywhere it is natural. Not a popup screaming every three seconds - a contextual next action at every decision point: calculate, read the fix, WhatsApp now. Every page we build ends its sections exactly this way.
The voice
Write like the phone call, not the brochure. Short sentences. Plain words. The occasional honest opinion. Buyers in real markets - tier-two, tier-three, everywhere trust is scarce - respond to straightness like plants to water.
The test
Hand the page to someone who fits the customer profile. If they finish knowing what it costs, whether it is for them, and what to do next - it converts. If they finish impressed but unsure - it is brochure.
We write like this for every page we ship. Want your site’s pages run through this structure? The site teardown shows which ones leak.
