The 10 SEO mistakes we see every week (and their

From keyword stuffing to ignored Search Console - the ten mistakes that quietly sink business sites, with the fix for each.

Most business sites do not fail SEO because of something exotic. They fail the same ten ways, every week. Count how many you recognise.

1. No dedicated pages per service. One “Services” page listing everything ranks for nothing. Each service deserves its own page aimed at its own searches. Fix: one page per service, each answering its buyers.

2. Hiding the price. “Contact us for pricing” loses every search containing “cost” or “price” - which is most buying searches. Fix: honest ranges; detail in the calculator if you must, but say something.

3. Ignoring Google Business Profile. The free asset that outranks websites for local searches, left as a stub. Fix: complete it, feed it, review it monthly.

4. Screenshot menus and image-only text. Google cannot read images. If your menu or prices exist only as photos, they do not exist. Fix: real text.

5. No Search Console. Flying blind - no idea what queries find you, which pages are indexed, what is broken. Fix: verify, submit sitemap, look monthly.

6. Chasing keywords you cannot win. Competing nationally from a tier-two city. Fix: win the local and specific searches first; the big ones come later.

7. Slow, heavy pages. Photos straight from the phone, five plugins, autoplay video. Buyers bounce; rankings follow them down. Fix: compress, cache, delete.

8. No reviews, anywhere. Proof converts traffic into enquiries; its absence converts them for your competitor. Fix: build the ask into delivery.

9. Redesigns without redirect maps. New site launches, old URLs die, years of rankings evaporate. Fix: 301-map every old URL before launch - non-negotiable.

10. Stopping after three months. SEO compounding is quiet, then obvious. The businesses that win simply did not stop. Fix: a small monthly habit beats a heroic one-off.

Recognise three or more on your own site? The site teardown lists yours in writing - and the fixes, itemised.
